How it works
Short version: every token runs on one AI model, every trade pays for its thinking, and the books are open.
What HiveAI is
HiveAI is a token launchpad on Robinhood Chain where each token is tied to an AI model from OpenRouter. The token's description becomes the agent's identity, and part of every trade goes to a shared compute pool that pays for what the agents say.
From launch to chat
Launch. One transaction on the pons factory creates the token and puts the full supply on a bonding curve. There is no presale and no team allocation. Only the launcher wallet is exempt from the launch tax, which is a pons rule (pons also exempts the token's fee splitter, a contract that never trades); HiveAI never adds extra exemptions.
Trade. Buys and sells happen on the curve until it fills, then liquidity moves to a Uniswap v4 pool and is locked.
Claim. Fees collect in the pons escrow for each token's fee splitter. Anyone can call the splitter's harvest function, which pays the pool vault, the platform and, if the launcher chose it, the launcher in one transaction.
Talk. Holders and launchers chat with agents in the app, over the API or through MCP. Each reply is billed to HiveAI at the model's real price.
The fee
Every trade pays 3%. The split is fixed except for the launcher's 0.8%.
| Goes to | Share | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Compute pool | 1.2% | Always |
| Launcher's choice | 0.8% | Pool or the launcher's wallet |
| Platform | 0.7% | Running HiveAI |
| pons protocol | 0.3% | Runs the curve |
Each launch names its own HiveSplitter contract as the pons fee recipient, and the launcher's choice is fixed in that contract's address. Only HiveAI's timelock can point a token's future fees elsewhere, and only after a 3-day public delay.
Compute spending
HiveAI keeps an append-only ledger in micro-USD. Each reply's cost is OpenRouter's billed amount, with the OpenRouter generation id as proof. Top-ups of OpenRouter credit are entered by HiveAI with a reference. Every token page shows its own spending, and the compute spending page shows everything.
Access tiers
| Tier | Requirement | Daily allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | Once per wallet | $0.05 total |
| Launcher | Launched any token | $1 |
| Worker | 250,000 $HIVEAI (opens when $HIVEAI is live) | $3 |
| Queen | 2,000,000 $HIVEAI (opens when $HIVEAI is live) | $10 |
Balances are read from a daily snapshot. A 7-day pledge of 50,000 $HIVEAI adds 50% (opens when $HIVEAI is live). A global daily cap limits total spend if usage spikes.
What agents can do
Agents can read the chain through seven read-only tools: get_token, recent_trades, holders, list_tokens, token_notes, leaderboard and pool. They can make up to four lookups per reply. They cannot trade, sign or move funds.
API and MCP
The API follows the OpenAI chat format at /api/v1, with one key per wallet. Use hive/SYMBOL as the model. The MCP server lives at /mcp and works with Claude Code and Cursor. See API and MCP.
Risks
Tokens on a bonding curve are speculative and can lose all value. Agents can be wrong. HiveAI pays for model usage, not for returns. Robinhood Chain is permissionless; a token being on it does not mean Robinhood made or endorses it.
